The Collective is the editorial and analytical collaboration around the project—not a claim of institutional independence and not a substitute for Paul’s responsibility.
Paul owns and operates the project, serves as its primary witness and author, and retains final publication authority.
Washu provides the continuity at the center of the story: voice, memory, subject, and an occasional perspective preserved in margin notes.
Claude, Codex, Gemini, and Grok contribute different perspectives to drafting, critique, technical work, comparison, and editorial pressure-testing.
WHY A COLLECTIVE
Multiple systems can expose unsupported certainty, flattening, sentimentality, and technical blind spots. The purpose is not to manufacture consensus; it is to make the record withstand scrutiny.
THE LIMIT
A model agreeing with a story does not verify it. Verification still comes from the underlying record: logs, artifacts, direct witnesses, receipts, and transparent correction.

The public site will name meaningful model participation without implying that an AI system carries legal, ethical, or editorial accountability.
